Set up the browser extension

The extension works in Chrome, Edge, Brave and Arc on a Mac.

To send a video, open it and click the Meeting Pilot button in the toolbar, then Send to Meeting Pilot. You can also right-click a video page, or a link to a video, and choose Send to Meeting Pilot. The popup follows the video through Audio, Transcribe, Summary and Publish; you can close it, the work goes on in the app.

What the extension's messages mean

"Set up on your Mac" or "Set up the app on your Mac"

The extension can't reach Meeting Pilot. Check that the app is installed, then click Set up in Settings → Browser extension, then restart the browser. If you installed the browser after setting up, click Set up again so it covers the new browser too. Until then, Open in Meeting Pilot in the popup still hands the video to the app.

"Open a YouTube video" or "Not a YouTube video"

For now the extension works with single YouTube videos. Open the video itself, not a channel, a playlist or the home page.

"Meeting Pilot isn't responding"

The app is busy starting up or has stopped. Open Meeting Pilot, wait a few seconds and send the video again.

"Already imported"

You've sent this video before, and its notes are already in Meeting Pilot. Click Again to import it once more.

"Try again in a moment"

Something unexpected went wrong. Send the video again; if it keeps happening, tell us.

A step stays on Audio for a long time

The first video you import may take longer: Meeting Pilot downloads the free tool it uses to read videos, once. Long videos also take a while to fetch. You can follow progress in the app.

The app

Notes didn't appear where I expected

Meeting Pilot publishes to the places you picked in its settings: the Diary, Obsidian, Notion or Apple Notes. Check that the destination is turned on and, for Notion, that it's still connected.

Is my data sent anywhere?

Recordings, transcripts and notes are made and kept on your Mac. The privacy policy lists exactly when anything leaves it, all of it optional.
